How to draw Father’s Day – Let’s get initiated!

Step 1

The scene we will be representing in this guide on how to draw Father’s Day will focus on two children who surprise their father with a beautiful gift. To start with this, we’ll begin with daddy’s head. Use some easy curved lines for the contours of his face and hair, and then you can use some simple line pieces to add his smiling facial articulation. His daughter will be behind him with her hands over her eyes, and you can also draw her arms in this step. Once all these elements are complete, we will move on to step 2.

Step 2

Continuing with this father’s day drawing, we will now draw the daughter of the picture. First, she draws a rounded shape for the sleeve of her dress by attaching it to the left arm you removed earlier. Next, we’ll use curved lines to outline her hair and head.

We’ll also draw her facial expression; her big smile indicates that she can’t wait for her dad to see her present! Finish by drawing her back and some details for her dress, and then add one more curved line for the side of the chair that dad is sitting on.

Step 3

The dad we will portray in this guide on how to draw Father’s Day was busy sitting and reading a newspaper before he was shocked. Using more curvy lines, you can remove his shoulders and arms falling, and then his hands will meet in her lap.

Also, he drew some sharp curved lines for the newspaper pages on his lap. We’ll also add his tie to his stripes before we continue. Be sure to leave a little space on his connection where we did in our reference image, as the gift he receives will take up this space later.

Step 4

We added the daughter to this image in a previous step, and this fourth part will see you adding the son to this Father’s Day drawing. She will stand to the chair’s right and hold a flat gift wrapped in a bow. This flat gift will also fill in the space you left on your tie earlier. There’s a lot of detail in this part, so be sure to take it slow and copy the reference image closely to ensure you don’t run into trouble.

step 5

This fifth step of our guide on drawing Father’s Day will see you wrap up with some final details. In this part, we will focus mainly on the legs of the father of the image. You can use some soft, curved lines to draw the legs of his pants. He’ll also be wearing some slippers, and you can add the comfy chair he’s sitting in to finish it off.

Once he has drawn all these details, he can add a few more of his own! One idea would be to remove a background, or you could change the characteristics of the characters to resemble your own family. Another idea would be to add a loving text or message to turn this into a cute Father’s Day card for the dad in your life! How will you finish this image?

Step 6

You’ve worked hard on this Father’s Day drawing, and now you can have fun and finish it with some colors! This drawing tries to express your creativity. We talked about ways you could do that with some extra detail in the last step, and this part is about expressing yourself with your colors and artistic mediums.

In our reference image, we show you a way to colorize this image, but these colors are just a suggestion for you. In this step, you should feel free to experiment with all of your favorite paints and art mediums to create a unique.
