After the Street Fighter V tournament wraps up at Evo 2022, a new trailer for the next game in the series — Street Fighter VI — reveals two more characters joining the fray.
The latest addition is Kimberly, a Valkyrie-style schoolgirl best known as Guy in Halo. She was initially teased at the end of the first SF6 gameplay trailer, which debuted during the PlayStation State of Play in June 2022, and she shares many similarities with Guy’s fighting style, who was last seen in Street Fighter IV.
Another confirmed character is Juri, who made his debut in Super Street Fighter IV and has appeared in all SF games since. The taekwondo master retains many of her quick kick attacks, although her motives in the game’s story are unclear as her main opponent, M. Bison, has been defeated.
The new Street Fighter VI trailer debuts after the Evo 2022 Street Fighter V Grand Finals, which was won by Japanese player Masaki “Kawano” Kawano. The weekend-long event includes competitions and announcements for multiple fighting games, including The King of Fighters XV, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7, and more.
Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry in the legendary fighting game series, featuring returning characters like Ryu and Chun-Li as well as new fighters like Jaime. The game is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2023.
