Marvel vs. Capcom 2: A New Era of Heroesone of the most popular entries in the series, is being re-released, but it will probably cost you quite a bob.

This latest release from Arcade1Up brings a full cycle as a brand new arcade cabinet.Cabinet is Announced at Fighting Game Championship Series Evounsurprisingly, will be the latest and most accessible release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in years.

you will be able to Pre-order cabinets from September 8, and while the price hasn’t been announced, you can expect it to cost between $449.99 and $499.99 based on its other cabinets. It has a 17-inch display and offers Wi-Fi connectivity for online multiplayer games. Although unfortunately for those of us in the UK, the cabinet can only be ordered in the US and Canada.

Not only will it contain Marvel vs. Capcom 2, it will also include the original game, and Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men Atomic Son, X-Men Mutant Apocalypseand Marvel Superheroes in Battle of the Gems.

There’s some classic Marvel vs. Capcom 2 art on the side of the cabinet, and it looks pretty good at this scale.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 debuted in Japan as an arcade game in early 2000, shortly after its release on the Sega Dreamcast. The game received follow-up ports for PS2, Xbox, and later Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. A mobile version of the game was also released in 2012, but it was removed from Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and iOS as Capcom’s licensing contract with Marvel expired in 2013.

For now, this arcade cabinet will be the only way to legally play the classic fighting game on modern hardware, so let’s hope it’s a sign of more.

Elsewhere in Evo, PlayStation has been asking players which NFTs they like to collect, which feels pretty presumptuous, and anyone likes to do that.
