It’s Friday, and you’re just ticking off the moments that make up a dull day. You keep looking at the clock. Wondering when the arm will finally hit where the magic five and twelve are.
Then it happened. Shhh! Time to go home.
But what will you do once you arrive? Taking care of the yard? No, it finally rained. Should you clean the house? do the laundry? Tidying up your chest of drawers? Possibly, but don’t do it. Those things can wait.
Take a moment to yourself because you are young and have a long life and have time to kill today. and tomorrow. So do what we’re doing. Kill the time by playing some games.
Here’s what we’re doing this weekend:
Connor Makar, Contributor – Various Fighting Games
I’ll be watching Evo 2022 this weekend. I keep a bucket of Ben & Jerry’s in the freezer and set aside some cash for extra trips to the store to buy more ice cream. I have my own living room this weekend, and a big TV. So, I only play fighting games.
To get ready, I disrupted my sleep schedule. Since Wednesday, I’ve been finishing work, going straight to bed, and staying awake from 9pm to 5am. I’m ready for Christmas fighting games.
James Billcliffe, Guide Editor – AI: Somnium Files
Spike Chunsoft is almost a visual novel master, but I haven’t heard of it AI: Somnium file Until we recently got the sequel, Nirvana Initiative.
Written and directed by Taro Uchikoshi of 9 Hours, 9 People, 9 Doors and Zero Escape: The Last Reward of Virtue, AI is a similar genre of very Japanese suspense fiction with a mix of goofy, cheesy humor and dark, ominous undercurrents.
I always love a good story, and artificial intelligence piqued my interest when I tried to see if I wanted to play a new sequel. Frustratingly, this is one of those games where you have to go through a ton of non-classic endings to unlock the “true” story (I didn’t know to get in, it broke my flow when it just stopped when I was invested). But now that I’ve gotten over my temper, I hope I’ll meander to the end this weekend.
Kelsey Raynor, Guide Writer – Resident Evil 6
I have no real plans for this weekend, but I’ve been on a massive Resident Evil binge lately.
Last weekend, I finished Resident Evil Village. This week, I rounded up Resident Evil 4, and now I think I’m about to step into dangerously boring territory, Resident Evil 6.
With the announcement that Wesker and Ada are coming to Dead by Daylight, it felt fitting to try and finally complete the sixth installment.
