There are plenty of brawlers “inspired” by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the latest is a Warner Bros title multidimensional – Featuring iconic heroes and cartoon characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry.

The technologists at Digital Foundry couldn’t resist and decided to do a video comparison to see how this new game stacks up against Masahiro Sakurai’s masterpiece. Considering how much fine-tuning Smash Bros. has done over the years, it’s already faced a huge uphill battle, but can it really compete?

Digital Foundry points out how combat naturally borrows a lot of ideas from Smash Bros. movesets, but the mechanics and flow of combat aren’t as “tight” as Smash Bros. It also apparently lacks on-screen visual cues and sounds which may have been overlooked. All round – The game runs at 60 fps, matching the performance of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In case you were wondering, this free game seems to skip the Switch version. Although there are plenty of Super Smash Bros. alternatives on Switch like Brawlhalla and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
