President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19 but will remain in quarantine, according to the White House.
Biden ‘continues to feel good’, White House doctor Kevin O’Connor said in the memo Saturday. O’Connor said that despite his negative antigen test, “it is very prudent that the president will continue with strict quarantine measures pending a second negative test.”
Biden, who has been fully vaccinated and received two booster shots, first tested positive for Covid on July 21 and then tested positive for a second time in a “rebound” case a week earlier.
O’Connor has previously warned that there could be a rebound in positive test results, a phenomenon seen in a small group of patients who, like Biden, are using the antiviral drug Paxlovid as part of their treatment.
