On a recent trip to Tennessee, I stayed at Dolly Parton’s DreamMore Resort in Dollywood’s 20-acre Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

My hotel room with a queen bed was $449 per night excluding tax. I also added a one-day pass to Dollywood theme parks to my reservation for $95.

My two-night stay at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort totaled $1,102.31.

One of the greatest advantages of staying at the DreamMore Resort is the shuttle to and from Dollywood.

When I arrived at the DreamMore Resort, my Dollywood ticket was waiting for me at the front desk. Since I booked the park tickets through the hotel, I also got a free ride on the hotel’s Dollywood shuttle and a free TimeSaver pass without the long lines.

The shuttle took me directly to the park entrance and the driver provided some helpful tips along the way, like we could get free ice water at any concession stand.

The shuttle picked me up at the same convenient location after Dollywood ended the summer night with fireworks and drone shows. After a long day on my feet, I was exhausted and loved that I didn’t have to make the long walk back to the parking lot.

In the lobby, I was greeted by live music when I checked in.

The singer played Dolly Parton songs, as well as Disney songs like “Let It Go” from “Frozen.”

In keeping with Parton’s signature style, the instruments are studded with rhinestones and decorated with butterflies.

The sign at the entrance reads “Camp DW,” a series of family-friendly activities like roasted morels and bedtime stories.

Also on the agenda: a to-go craft pack and free pink lemonade.

At the Starbucks in the lobby, you can get Dollywood’s famous cinnamon buns without the long lines at the theme park.

Freshly baked daily, pull-apart cinnamon buns are soaked in butter and cinnamon sugar before baking. Each comes with buttercream frosting and a dip of applesauce.

It’s such an iconic treat that the Dollywood gift shop even sells T-shirts that say “I’m just for the cinnamon buns.”

In Dollywood, cinnamon buns are sold at The Grist Mill in the Craftman’s Valley area and Spotlight Bakery in Showstreet, but wait times can be long. The Starbucks line at DreamMore Resort is much shorter.

The gift shop in the lobby sells some of the same souvenirs as Dollywood, another chance to avoid the crowds.

Tucked away in a corner of the lower hall, an unreleased Dolly Parton song was her last, hidden from plain sight.

Displayed in a glass case, the maroon “Dream Box” contains a recording of “My Place In History,” a song Parton wrote and will be released on her 100th birthday in 2046.

Parton wrote “My Place in History” in 2015, the year she opened DreamMore Resort. She recorded the song on a CD and put a CD player in a maroon box.

Also in the glass case is a piece of wood from the front porch of Parton’s childhood home in Sevierville, Tennessee, where she grew up singing with her 11 siblings.

Around the corner, a hallway full of Parton’s album covers pays homage to the hotel’s founder.

Patton posted nearly 90 albums Since the beginning of her musical career in the 1960s.

As I walked to my room, Parton’s words and images were still present throughout the hall.

On the wall outside the elevator are Parton’s quotes such as “If you want a rainbow, you have to endure the rain”, “Leave something good every day” and “My weakness has always been food and men, in that order. .”

After a glamorous time in a Dolly Parton-themed RV the night before, I enjoyed the material things of the DreamMore Resort. Its idyllic mountain views, southern hospitality and family-friendly entertainment are all true to Parton’s brand, and I love finding a little tribute to her music career throughout the hotel. Plus, the convenience of a hotel shuttle and a free TimeSaver pass make visiting Dollywood a breeze.
