
World champion Shirley-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran this year’s fastest women’s 100m in 10.66 seconds in the Diamond League in Silesia, Poland.
American Aleia Hobbs was second at 10.94 and Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou was third at 11.00.
“I’m always racing, hoping to run fast,” Fraser-Pryce said.
“It’s amazing to have that consistency. I’m always excited to be in the game and see what I can do.”
Meanwhile, fellow Jamaicans Sherika Jackson, Won the 200m in 21.84, Bahamas’ Shaunae Miller-Uibo finished second in 22.35 and American Jenna Prandini finished third in 22.39.
Jackson also missed out on the Commonwealth before, becoming the second fastest woman to win the world title in July with a time of 21.45.
“I’m not thinking about the world record. I just try to do my best, and if it comes, it will come,” she said.
Trayvon Brommel In 9.95, he defeated fellow American Marvin Bracy to win the men’s 100m championship, and Jamaica’s Ackeem Blake finished third.
Brommel is third at the world championships behind second-placed Bracey.
Sweden’s world champion and world record holder Armand du Plantis Clear 6.10m to win the pole vault.
