“We have [Mark Hamill] Like we have a lot of people, that’s where there are Sandman fans,” Gaiman said. “You know, Patton Oswalt. [who voices Matthew the Raven], I first met him in 1992, when he waited three hours in line to get his Sandman: Season of the Mist autograph, so we had to beat our weight in some way. Mark Hamill loves comics.I remember and [Allan] About what Merv’s voice should be like, I don’t remember which of us suggested Mark Hamill, but we never real Thought we would get him. “
“I mean, he’s smart,” Heinberg chimed in. “Aside from his film work, he’s a great voice actor and my favorite in Batman: The Joker in the Animated Series. So he’s always at the top of our list, for that sort of thing.”
“We were very lucky with Sandman because we kept attracting people to our roster,” Gaiman recalls. “You know, Stephen Fry agreed to be Gilbert because Stephen Fry loved Sandman and wanted to do that and wanted to be that. So it gave us a little bit of magic that we wouldn’t have when we were casting .”
The Sandman, starring Boyd Holbrook, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Joely Richardson and Jenna Coleman, elevates the storyline directly from Gaiman’s graphic novel.
