A notorious data mining group, known on Twitter as PokeMiners, discovered a new project called “Battle Pass Ticket” in Pokémon Go files. The ticket was discovered as part of the game around August 3, and the data miner did not specify what the item was. Since it’s a single ticket, Battle Pass tickets will likely give players access to upcoming events where they can earn items. Niantic has released ticketed events in Pokémon Go ahead of time, sometimes bringing new exclusive cosmetics for players to collect.

Battle Pass tickets may be included in the game during the latest update, and may be available for purchase at a not-too-distant date. Expect to hear some official word from Niantic soon, but for now, Battle Pass tickets can only be found through data mining and won’t give you access to anything. Ticketed events like Battle Pass usually require real-world money to buy, so expect to see new Battle Pass tickets appear in the game store.

Sometimes, special events like the Battle Pass are when players can get exclusive items like costumes, poses, and Pokémon outfits. At other times, however, Niantic will reward participating spectators with bonus items that players can earn through normal gameplay, such as extra poffins, incense, Pokéballs, and Poké Coins. We’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store for the new Battle Pass, but according to comments on the PokeMiners Tweet, fans aren’t too optimistic about the chances of the Battle Pass including exclusive items.

Elf Miner is a respected group that has been reliable in the past. They mine name files, assets, and some cosmetic items for Pokémon Go data. They usually find out what poses and Pokémon outfits will appear in the game before Niantic’s official announcement. That said, every leak should be treated with caution until Niantic makes an official announcement.
