Overwatch 2 will no longer hold any public betas until its full release within two months.
Blizzard executive Jon Spector tweet News last night, in response to fans’ questions about whether there will be another beta period.
“While we will continue to test OW2 internally on a daily basis, we do not plan to conduct any additional public beta testing,” Spector wrote. “With all the valuable feedback we’ve received from the alpha and two public betas, we’ll be focused on delivering the best game possible on October 4th.”

The first beta is for PC only, while the second beta is for console and PC players and has a wider focus, including cross-play.
The news was not well received by players. On the Overwatch subreddit, the top-voted comments on a discussion thread expressed their disappointment with Blizzard and the omission of the public beta.
Reactions on Twitter were similar, with others concerned about the lack of new hero-supporting features in previous betas.

I really hope they knock out supports like they did with tanks and dps, and think the 3rd beta will be more support-focused and really looking forward to it! 😭 https://t.co/XC5t0v2Qq8
