With the F1 22 crossover coming later in August, Formula 1 on PC is about to become more social. Even better news, you can try out the racing game’s new cross-play feature in two beta sessions starting today, August 5th.

The two testing periods were August 5-7 and August 12-14.Over these two weekends, F1 22 players on PC will be able to play with F1 fans on PlayStation and Xbox consoles by either steam or origin.

Cross-play is available for F1 22’s social racing and two-player career modes. To participate, you must enable cross-play in the Settings menu under Game Options. Once done, you will be able to join other sessions and invite players to your sessions on all platforms in Social Race.

F1 22 also has a Buddy Center, which you can access by pressing F10, where you can add anyone you’ve recently raced with to your buddy list.

EA Sports has yet to provide an exact date for the full rollout of F1 22’s cross-play feature – that could depend on how the first two weekends go and if the community finds any serious issues.
