“Never in our nation’s 246-year history has anyone posed a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” so Say Former Vice President Dick Cheney featured his daughter’s struggling re-election campaign in a campaign ad released Thursday.

Cheney’s assessment is based on his claim that Trump is a liar. According to Cheney, Trump is a “coward” rather than a “real man” because “real men don’t lie to his supporters.”

Do ‘real men’ lie? world? That’s what Dick Cheney did.

as Donald Trump famously statement In 2016, during the Republican debate before the South Carolina primary (which Trump won): “Obviously, the Iraq war was a huge mistake. they lie. They say there are weapons of mass destruction. No, they know no. ” (emphasis added)

Cheney — widely considered the brain behind President George W. Bush’s disastrous administration — was one of the masterminds of the Iraq War.

Cheney’s short-sighted and arrogant foreign adventures cost America and our allies dearly in blood and wealth, not to mention the horrors his war brought to the Iraqi people.

A full reckoning of Dick Cheney’s misconduct is beyond the scope of one article. (Did I mention torture Iraqi prisoner for Bush-Cheney defense secretary officially recognized, according to the American brigadier general who manages the prison? This alone requires multiple volumes. ) but let’s consider the big lie.

First, the Bush-Cheney administration told us that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. We were told Iraq was trying to buy uranium oxide, aka uranium oxide yellow cake. It turned out to be completely false. The same goes for all attempts to link Saddam Hussein to the 9/11 attacks. Yes, Saddam Hussein was an evil man, but he was no threat to America. We now know that the government also Know Their WMD “intelligence” was “inaccurate” at the time. But that didn’t stop them from launching Invasion A country that poses no threat to us.

Second, the Bush-Cheney administration told us that the U.S. military will “called the liberator. “As one giddy neocon puts it, this invasion will be”cake walk. In fact, the US death toll in Iraq total 4,598 people, and another 32,000 injured.

Third, the Bush-Cheney administration tells us that, backed by their neoconservative cheerleaders (most of whom happen to be the most rabid Never-Trumpers), Operation Iraqi Freedom will unleash a wave of democratization in the Middle East wave. Instead, it unleashed a wave of sectarian struggles, suicide bombings, regional instability, civil wars, immigration crises, and genocidal genocide of ancient Christian communities, so much so that Christianity was born from barely any Christians in the region.

Up to 306,000 civilians and soldiers died About 3 million Iraqis were killed in the Iraq War displaced as refugees. The true extent of the destruction will never be known.

Think of all the soldiers who died because of Cheney’s lies.

Think of the veterans forever scarred by Cheney’s lies.

Think of all the American kids who grew up without parents because their parents served in a war waged by Cheney’s lies.

Think of all the innocent Iraqis watching their homes destructiontheir country plunder, their world was turned upside down by the lies of Dick Cheney and his miniature George W. Bush. Generations will feel the consequences of their lies.

But Dick Cheney wants us to believe that in our 246-year history, Donald Trump is “the greater threat to our republic.”

Sorry, Dick Cheney. If anyone has earned this honor, it’s you.
