story plot

Clermont: The club fell into disarray The drastic departure of director Jerome Champagne and News that boss Ahmed Shafer is trying to sell club for high price. This summer has been tough, star youth academy graduate Mohamed Bayo moves to Lille OSC, Salis Abdul Samed, Cedric Hontongji and Akim Zedaka Losses and the arrival of most of the free transfers like Maxime Goneron have replaced them. With four teams relegated this season, Clermont is one of the favourites to return to Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain: The Parc des Princes has been an exceptionally positive centre this summer, as Les Parisiens have embarked on a complete overhaul of the squad and overall mentality. Luis Campos is working to move unpopular players such as Gini Wijnaldum, now in Roma, and Idrissa Gueye, rumoured to be returning to Everton, while the Portuguese hand over the likes of Vitinha, Renato Sanches, Hugo Ekitike and Nordi Mukiele to Galtier Rebuild the starting XI. Lionel Messi and Neymar are more focused than ever. Paris Saint-Germain appear to be gearing up for a strong season in the months leading up to the FIFA World Cup.

Pick: Paris Saint-Germain easily won this victory. Expect Galtier’s side to do just as well here after their easy win in Nantes. We saw how the Capitals got off to a strong start in the last game, and they basically stayed close enough to the chasing teams the following season. Ligue 1 won’t be enough for the title, and the French Cup is also expected to be a success, but an early lead will make it easier for Galtier to keep his players in top form to start the Champions League in good form.
