The Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk map has been removed from Battle Royale in 2021, but now, ahead of the release of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, players are fighting for it through a petition that has drawn thousands of signatures its return.
December 8th, 2021 will be the last time Warzone players will battle it out in Verdansk, this Eastern European-inspired map is no different from PUBG’s Erangel style, replaced by Caldera, which itself was recently updated as part of Warzone Season 4 . Caldera is frustrating some Call of Duty fans because it’s based on the 2021 Vanguard and comes with WW2 era rather than modern weapons. However, as we get closer to the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta and await more details on the release date of Warzone 2, some CoD communities have campaigned for the reintroduction of Verdansk, creating the hashtag #BringBackVerdansk, and even seeking out the American music producer’s support. Support and Fortnite collaborators Marshmallow.
And now, the online petition is progressing, and as of this writing has attracted more than 14,000 signatures from Call of Duty players who want to see Verdansk return.
“We, the players and the community, want choice, not [sic] Forced to play a specific map or mode,” said a statement accompanying the petition change.org“Many of us love Modern Warfare and enjoy playing with today’s weapons. We’re a big group that hates WWII weapons. We’re not asking you to destroy Caldera. We’re just asking you to give us options. Return Verdansk and modern weapons U.S. many of us consider quitting and waiting [sic] MW2 will be released in 2022. We don’t want that.Dear Activision Blizzard [sic], respect and thank you for the great support you have received from us. Listen to our wishes and don’t force us to play games we don’t like. ”
It remains to be seen whether Verdansk will go on a final farewell tour before Warzone ends, or possibly return in Warzone 2, but it’s clear that a dedicated segment of the CoD fanbase is eager to get it back. However, with Warzone coming to an end, we’re excited about Modern Warfare 2’s release date and new DMZ mode, which was recently leaked by an NFL player.
