On Friday, several agencies responded to “multiple reports” of people in the waters off Lower Key. Eight people were pulled from the water and two died, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
A total of 15 people were reported in the water, U.S. Coast Guard tweet Authorities were still searching for five people at around 4:30 p.m. local time.
It asked boaters in the area to provide space for response agencies to conduct searches.
