Six people were killed in a violent three-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Los Angeles, officials said.
Seven other people were injured in the accident in the Windsor Hills area just before 2 p.m., NBC4 reported.
Two of the badly burned cars stopped at a Shell petrol station, while the third appeared to have rolled onto the roof near the entrance to the petrol station.
The crash occurred about 10 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
Initially, two people were killed, but that was later increased to six, according to KABC.
The California Highway Patrol said one of the vehicles was speeding south on La Brea Boulevard before colliding with another vehicle.
The driver of the car ran a red light before the accident, according to the CHP.
