The trailer for the new Crypt of the Necrodancer DLC also revealed the upcoming indie game in the series: Necrodancer Rift.
The trailer shows off a logo and promises more news soon. Other details of the game are still being revealed, though the trailer confirms that Necrodancer’s Rift is a new indie rhythm game.
DLC, Crypt of the Necrodancer: Sync, adds three new characters, multiplayer and mod support to the beloved musical Roguelite. It’s also now in Early Access on Steam. The new characters are Klarinetta, a knight wielding a giant Zweihänder, Chaunter, a ghost who can possess enemies, and Suzu, a ghost with a fast dash and a powerful spear.
Multiplayer adds co-op and competitive modes for up to eight players simultaneously, with up to four local players. The game uses a rollback multiplayer architecture and allows you to join and create lobbies. You can even watch the game. Modes include simple battle mode, last dance and cooperative play.
This update also adds new items, enemies and weapons. You can now carry shields, deal damage with Onyx weapons, throw any weapon with a throwing charm, use dash and charm spells, and many other new additions. Synchrony introduces full mod support, including a mod portal that allows you to install and browse mods in-game.
