The release date for Multiversus and the release of Rick and Morty’s Morty character have been pushed back, as developer Player First said there is currently no release date for the alternative fighting game Season 1.

Season 1 of Multiverus, originally scheduled to launch on August 9, has now been postponed indefinitely, meaning the fighting game will still be in beta with its original 15-tier Battle Pass. Of course, this gives you more time to check out all the Multiversus free characters along with the full tier list. We’ve also found a way for you to play Multiversus with a Gamecube controller, making it feel more like the classic Super Smash Bros. This might offer some small comfort as we wait for Player First to give us a new release date.

“A huge thank you to everyone who plays MultiVersus. It’s great to see so many players enjoying the game, and the public beta release is just the beginning,” Say developer. “We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 and Morty’s release to a later date. We know this may disappoint some people and want to reassure our community that we are committed to delivering something that will delight players new and exciting content. We will let you know as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm and look forward to launching Season 1 soon!”

Hopefully, the release date of Multiversus Season 1 isn’t too far away, but for those errant fans looking forward to the fighting game’s arrival on August 9, it’s a no-brainer. We will keep you updated with the latest news about Multiversus releases. In the meantime, in addition to enjoying the Multiversus beta, you can take your release date frustration away with some of the best fighting games on PC.
