The new indie horror game The Mortuary Assistant, which puts players on a gruesome mission while fending off a vengeful spirit, is hitting the Steam charts.

What makes The Mortuary Assistant stand out from other games is that instead of wandering around New York City, channeling your inner cat, or encountering a scary villain in a romantic setting, you’re embalming a corpse and trying to make it in the River. In a first-person horror game, players have to do everything an undertaker would normally do, except for the added stress of fighting demons as you work your way through.
The trailer for The Mortuary Assistant was enough to make me realize I didn’t want to play this game, but if you’re not as scared of cats as I am, you should expect ghosts, gross-looking corpses, and tons of jump scares. You can read it below See this for yourself, but be warned; it’s scary.
