If you have been hesitant to buy Far Cry 6, Your patience has paid off. From now until August 7, you can check out the open-world shooter for free on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. You’ll get access to the entire base game as well as all the free DLC that Ubisoft has released since launch. The game will also be available in the next few days, and you can save 60% if you decide to pick it up after Free Play Day.
Far Cry 6 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, giving you a tyrannical enemy in the form of dictator Anton Castillo (played by Giancarlo Esposito). To end his rule, you’ll need to trek across the unforgiving island of Yara, retaking hostile camps along the way. The game looks impressive on next-gen platforms and high-end PCs, but the action is as free and chaotic as ever. Whether you want to sneak up on enemies or dash into the line of fire with powerful weapons, Far Cry 6 won’t stop you.
While Free Play Day only runs until August 7, most of the Far Cry 6 discounts will last longer. Here’s how Far Cry 6 is currently selling:
There are also discounts on the Season Pass and the Deluxe Edition of the game – so be sure to read the full catalog before buying.
Our Far Cry 6 review found this game to be another fun open-world game that will be enjoyed by both Far Cry veterans and newcomers alike. It doesn’t really add anything new to the formula, but there’s enough entertainment here to make it worth the money.
Critic Phil Hornshaw wrote: “Far Cry games have long been huge open-world affairs, offering players all sorts of things to do, from piloting different vehicles to flying in a wingsuit. From hunting animals to experiencing side quests.” “As revolutionary partisan Dani Rojas, all of these options are available to you again in Far Cry 6—and more.”
